Dirty Hippie Tallow Soap July 23 2026, 0 Comments

"Dirty Hippie soap is a little nostalgic nod to the years I spent dancing barefoot at jam-band festivals. I wanted to create an all-natural tie-dyed bar, and (obviously) it had to include patchouli - even though patchouli has never been my favorite scent on its own. Blended with sweet orange, bergamot, cedarwood, and lemongrass, though, it became something sublime.
The colorful swirls come from Purple Brazilian Clay from Rainforest Chica (she has the best clays!), turmeric and moringa grown here at Vital Acre, and indigo. Even the water in this batch was replaced with hydrosol distilled from galangal harvested on the farm.
That connection to the land runs through every soap we make. Each bar begins with local grass-fed tallow or organic, cold-pressed plant oils and incorporates something from our small regenerative urban farm—whether it’s an herb, vegetable, flower, botanical infusion, juice, honey, or hydrosol. For us, it all comes back to caring for the soil, knowing where our ingredients come from, and making something useful and beautiful with what the land provides." - Brooke
